TALENT
A major international manufacturer of Carbon Products, on its way of
becoming a “global player”, recognized that they were about to have a
significantly increased need for quality leadership and decided to embark
on a systematic program of developing high-potential junior leaders into
top managers.
We assisted them in assessing and selecting the most promising candidates
to receive this benefit and instituted a regular individual coaching and
training program for them. After eight years of systematic support, most
participants have been successfully promoted to top leadership positions
within the organization and similar ‘Emerging Leaders’ programs were
established in several of the company’s subsidiaries.

SEARCH
A North American subsidiary of a European supplier to the Automotive
Industry decided to increase the striking power of their North American
Sales force, which involved replacing some unsuccessful salesmen and
adding several new sales positions. Based on comprehensive search profiles
we had developed together, company executives generated a wish list of
candidates presently working for competitors whom they knew of as being
excellent salesmen. After we contacted the candidates to confirm interest
in considering a change in employment, and after initial interviews had
been conducted, we performed thorough assessments of their strengths and
weaknesses. We were then able to compare our findings with the search
profiles, make recommendations about whether or not to hire them, and give
pointers about how to manage them most effectively. With their revamped
sales-force, the company has been able to make significant inroads in
their highly competitive field.

TEAMS & CROSS-CULTURAL
An international Machine manufacturer with production sites in different
European and North American countries recognized that a major stumbling
block confronting them was the poor communication between key players in
different locations.
This problem significantly interfered with timeliness and quality of
shipments made between sites, and ultimately led to customer
dissatisfaction. We conducted a series of teambuilding and cross-cultural
appreciation workshops, and were able to help international team members
develop a greater sense of cohesion and mutual understanding. This
resulted in a significant improvement of communication and collaboration
between different sites, leading to greater customer satisfaction.

OUTSOURCING
After previously making two failed attempts at starting a North American
production and sales site, the owners of a German horticultural company
concluded that their main obstacle to earlier success had been
“people-problems” and that they would take a different approach this time
around: While their accounting manager is doubling as Human Resource
Administrator, we were entrusted with the HR Development duties. We
conduct assessments before key-employees are hired, do regular coaching of
all staff, addressing problems before they become unmanageable, assist
with conflict resolution and teambuilding as the need arises, and help
with key communications between the owners in Europe and the North
American management.
After three years, the upstart subsidiary has grown significantly, is
approaching the break-even point, and is continually expanding their share
of the North American market. |
